We’ve been home now for nearly a month, obeying the rules and missing the family terribly.
But we’re surrounded by a lot, and I mean a lot of Visitors, who are completely ignoring the rules.
How do we know? Because when people have visitors, their volume increases a great deal.
The UK family unit is so split and splintered now that there are lots of variations. The people along the road had a birthday party in the garden a few days ago, with Visitors, Divorced Dad, Dad of youngest child who visits sometimes, step-children, divorced Gran, etc.
At the back of us, Granny and Grandad arrived and stayed all afternoon, having dinner in the garden.
To the side of us, they’ve had Visitors three days running, and further along, a second set of children arrives every few days, and they are LOUD!
What is going on in their minds? It’s widely believed that only older people are dying of Coronavirus, so everyone else is safe.
Don’t they know that they’re Carriers? They could murder more people than Dr Shipman did through their arrogant behaviour.
A neighbour called out to me that we’re a low-risk area. But how do we know where these Visitors are travelling from?
And no we’re not a low-risk area. There are many unseen victims who are quietly recovering in their own homes.
Apparently the ambulance crews don’t take them to hospital if they can still speak!
Over 10,000 people have died in England so far. This is Sunday.
There are, or were, around 15,000 residents in our town. That puts it into perspective, doesn’t it? The equivalent of TWO THIRDS of our town have died.
I don’t know about you, but I don’t want to die through the selfish ignorance and stupidity of someone else.
I’ve got a lot of living to do when this is all over. So STAY AT HOME!!!!!
A Hungarian dish, this is another great recipe for leftovers that can be easily adjusted according to your available ingredients, so I’m not going to list them exactly. You can use what you have, and taste it to check the flavour.
If you don’t have chicken you can use whatever meat you have.
Saute chopped onion in oil. Add chopped green pepper & garlic. Cook until soft. Stir in a generous amount of paprika; about 1- 1 1/2 tblsps. Stir. Now add a tin of tomatoes. Season. Bring to the boil & gently simmer for about half an hour, or a bit longer if the meat was raw.
Just before serving, stir in some sour cream.
Serve with rice or mashed potatoes.
NB If you don’t have any sour cream, you can easily make your own. there are plenty of recipes online.
