Welsh Witterings: tea party on tour
This week’s wittering are written as I sitcom a field in Cornwall contemplating the task on packing 200 teacups and saucers. Why? Well, I have spent the past three days at Karen Kay’s Three Wishes Fairy Festival serving tea and cake to the fabulous crowds and staff at this rather unique festival.
I’ve had a great time, but I am worn out. It’s been hard work and between baking, cooking, serving and smiling I think I’m now ready for a nice sleep in my own bed, but alas the tea tent must now come down everything must be packed and I have a five hour drive home to look forward to.
It’s been early starts and very late finishes. People have loved the china cups and tea party idea and I have received lots of lovely comments and positive feedback.
Everything was vegan at the festival, but to be fair my cakes were absolute delicious and my vegan Victoria sponge was better than my dairy inclusive recipe and my lemon and rose cake went down a storm.
I’m brimming with ideas of how to improve my stand and my mobile tea party will be on tour again next month so watch this space.
Right, coffee and packing must be attended to, so until next time a fond farewell from Cornwall.
