Steve’s Sojourns. Viking
For those of you who like Viking Ocean Cruises “Which” has revealed that the company has come top of the table in its annual cruise satisfaction survey, making it the most highly rated ‘Which? Recommended Provider’ in the Ocean Cruises category. The award-winning river and ocean cruise line performed exceptionally well in every category – a significant achievement considering Viking’s first ocean ship set sail as recently as 2015.
Viking are an upmarket, adults-only ships resulting in top marks for value for money. It’s also about what they don’t offer – no casinos, no hard-sell and no children under the age of 18.
It’s fair to say that they are a destination-focused cruise line which offers culturally enriching experiences for those curious travellers who want to explore the world in comfort and if you’re into design the elegant Scandinavian look really adds to the immersive destination and onboard experiences.
Strangely enough the news about the Which? ocean survey comes hot on the heels of the company’s announcement on 15 January that it will expand its destination-focused travel experiences with the launch of new expedition voyages. Viking Expeditions will begin sailing in January 2022 with its first vessel, Viking Octantis, embarking on voyages to Antarctica and North America’s Great Lakes. A second expedition vessel, Viking Polaris, will debut in August 2022, sailing to Antarctica and the Arctic.
