A Stranger in Vegas; Short-term escape
It was around 3 a.m and I was still awake. I couldn’t sleep, the weather was so hot and I was irritated by doing the same thing everyday. I Finally laid my head on my pillow thinking how nice it would be if that night was spent by a lake.
I woke up around 9 a.m, motivated to live something different today. I haven’t prepared myself for anything because I had no idea where i’m going. I found myself on the way to the Red Rock.
The Red Rock Canyon is a conservation area, a complex of geological history. It is a 195,819 acres within the Mojave Desert and that’s why it is divided into 10 stops or destinations. I picked up one, the Red Spring. To be honest, I was running after water but what I found was a hiking mountain. It was nice but it was also hot. I got exhausted climbing for few meters. I wasn’t prepared for it, I had the wrong clothes and the wrong shoes. I went down losing the desire for exploring the other Red Rock areas.
At the end of my day, when I got home and googled what’s on the Red Rock Canyon, I regret that I gave up and left. I will definitely make a more organized trip to that place because apparently it’s worth exploring.
As for the information, there’s not much to know about the Willow Beach Marina. It is located in the Black Canyon region of the Colorado River. There are a variety of boating rentals available including and not limited to kayak and canoes, powerboats..etc
I took my shoes off, dipped my feet in the cold water. Lighting a cigarette and I started enjoying the water tickling in between and around my toes. A smooth happy wind passed by my face, it made my eyelids get together. I kept my eyes closed. It was crowded but it felt like I was by myself. All I was hearing was the water waves scouring over the rocks.
All ages were young, the kids are happy and grown-ups are kids again.
I did not want to leave, but I had to. It was a short-term escape.
