Pyrotechnic displays that will thrill you
Get set for some explosive excitement happening over the August Bank Holiday as the
incredible Tanks Trucks and Firepower Show takes place once more near Dunchurch in
Warwickshire. This fantastic two-day event brings together a spectacular display of tanks
firing and moving at speed, incredible pyrotechnic displays, car crushing and military re-
enactment, all taking place in the UK’s biggest tank arena.
Tanks in action
The Tanks, Trucks and Firepower Show is organised by the Alvis Fighting Vehicle Society.
The AFV Society was established in 2005 and has the largest collection of Post War tanks
and fighting vehicles in the UK – and this is your chance to get up close and see them in
action. Headed by Andrew Baker and his team, this promises to be the ultimate family day
out. You can even make a weekend of it and camp there from Thursday 22nd onwards.
Witness incredible explosions
Amongst the attractions, there will be more than 50 tanks and military vehicle static displays,
ranging from the world record holding Challenger 1 Main Battle Tank to artillery and
includes SAM anti-aircraft vehicles, Land Rovers and a Lynx helicopter.
There will also be modern and World War II re-enactment camps with trench systems. Add to
this over 20 stall holders and mobile kitchens selling a variety of products including clothing,
models, books and DVD’s.
This car was no match for the Centurion tank
Amongst the events, you won’t want to miss the CVR(T) Tank Display as they perform high-
speed mobility demonstrations. At mid-day they will be firing the big guns. This show fires
the biggest amount of tank shells and artillery of any UK show.
