Mulled wine, folk ensembles and delicacies – Christmas market in Prague!
Christmas is a holiday of peace, tradition, family, good drink and food, and yes, of Christmas markets. We, Czechs, are heading to the Christmas markets to “tune into the Christmas mood”. We visit not only the local markets in our country, but also in neighboring countries (popular are for example markets in Vienna, Dresden or Krakow). On the other hand, foreigners from neighboring countries come to visit ours. Today’s article will focus on Christmas markets in Prague.
There are three main markets in Prague. They take place in the Republic Square (Náměstí Republiky), Wenceslas Square (Václavské náměstí) and Old Town Square (Staroměstské náměstí). The last two are held from 30.11. 2019 to 6.1. 2020. Markets On Republic Square ends earlier, on 30.11. 2019. Shops are open every day from 10:00 to 22:00, some until midnight (those with food and drinks). Entry is free.
