Meraviglia means marvel and it’s the well deserved name of the new MSC cruise ship that cumulates all superlatives: 315 metres long, 15 decks open to the guests, 2,244 cabins (63% with a private balcony), up to 5,700 passengers, 4 pools, the very latest cutting edge technology, innovative accommodation, 2 theatres presenting world class entertainment including two different shows by the “Cirque du Soleil”, the widest range of dining options, the longest LED sky screen at sea… Figures and options are impressive. The christening ceremony took place in Le Havre in Normandy, on June 3rd in Sophia Loren’s presence, the ship’s Godmother.

The “Meraviglia” left Le Havre on the very next day following her christening for her maiden voyage that was already fully booked months ago. She sailed to the Mediterranean Sea where she will be cruising all summer long. The 7-day long cruises will take passengers, who can embark in any port of call along the way, to Barcelona, Marseille, Genoa, Naples, Messina and Valetta. A wide range of shore excursions at each port of call can fulfil everyone expectations with tours designed for families, for heritage, nature or gastronomy lovers and even sport activities such as hiking or biking for those who choose the onboard “Wellness Program” that offers healthy food and daily fitness lessons.

But the Meraviglia is a travel destination in herself and passengers who want to stay on board during the whole cruise will have plenty to do. Kids-dedicated activities keep children busy all day long. There are 7 different areas for kids from babies to teenagers including a water park. Adults can also have fun in the sports zone, at the bowling alley, at the flight simulator, at the F1 simulator. Teens can enjoy a 4D cinema, an arcade, a real TV studio with cameras, a stage and greenscreen facilities and even a tech lab to learn 4D printing, VR gaming or 3D scanning…

The Italian restaurant

The “Galleria Meraviglia” is a 96-metres long and 2-decks high indoor promenade topped with an amazing LED sky with stunning visual effects, set at the centre of the ship. This is the place to go to shop, have a drink in one of the 20 bars, have a snack or dinner. Booking a table in one of the 12 different restaurants is easy with the MSC app, “MSC for Me”. No need to queue at the reception desk, with a single click you can check all the availabilities and book your table at the “Butcher’s Cut, an American steakhouse, at the Kaito Sushi Bar, at the Ristorante Italiano… And if you change your mind another click is enough to make another choice. No need to book to eat in the 3,550sqm “Marketplace Buffet” that is open 20 hours per day. With open-fronted kitchens serving dishes inspired by all corners of the globe, with a fresh mozzarella production area, a fruit and vegetables market, children or wellness counters, it can satisfy every hungry stomach!

The Sushi Bar

The “MSC for Me” app can also be used to book an excursion on shore, make an appointment at the hairdresser, at the Balinese spa, at the Thermal area or at a fitness course. These services are also available with your personal MSC card. Every passenger gets one and uses it not only as a cabin key but also as an interactive key at one of the many dedicated terminals located in the public areas of the ship. Quick and easy!

The Brass Anchor Pub

The Meraviglia offers a wide range of cabin types. There are cabins for families accommodating up to 10 people, large suites including 8 duplex suites, 1,274 balcony cabins… not to forget the MSC Yacht Club where guests enjoy a luxury experience with 24-hour butler service, a private pool and solarium on the top desk, a private restaurant and exclusive treatment room in the Aurea Spa.
