For anyone who has visited a Cosplay, comic con type of event, they will know that it’s pretty normal to bump into Superman, Supergirl and other characters from the world of  TV, film and comic. There’s nothing Cosplayers like better than to dress up as their favourite hero or villain – and brilliantly they do it too.

However, at this coming weekend’s Collormania 24 – Film & Comic Con show (June 3-4) there’s every chance that you might bump into Superman and his cousin, Supergirl for real, as actors Dean-Cain who played Superman in the 1993 Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman, and Helen Slater who took the lead role in the 1984 film Supergirl are just two of the amazing line up of celebrities booked to appear at the 2-day show.

Another famous face appearing is actor Robert Patrick well known for playing the emotionless, unstoppable, liquid-metal shape shifter T-1000 in Terminator 2:Judgement Day. In fact there’s a full line up of stars on Collectormania’s website but as a taster, the list includes  favourites from Game of Thrones, Doctor Who, Stargate, Buffy and other classics of film and TV.

Actress, dancer and entertainer Bonnie Langford will be there, along with John Barrowman from Arrow, Legends of Tomorrow and Torchwood; others include Ming-Na Wen from Agents of Shield, Carlos Valden from Arrow, Ernie Hudson of Ghostbusters, Ben Browder and Michael Shanks of Stargate – the list goes on and on.

Boxers

Sports fans can also meet a golden array of heroes from football, boxing and other sports. There will be legendary champions such as Frank Bruno MBE former WBC Heavyweight Boxing World Champion; Ricky Hatton MBE former Light Welterweight & Welterweight Champion of the World plus other great names from the boxing world. Whilst from the football field, England football hero Jack Charlton OBE, DL will be part of an impressive line up of football legends that include Paul Gascoigne, Pelè, Dennis Law, Gordon Banks, Geoff Hurst and many more.

Visitors to the show can pay for autographs and even have a professional photo taken with their favourite star, plus many of the special guests will be giving talks in the live theatre – so a chance to ask them a question.  Check the website for details and prices, as celebrities charge different amounts and could be attending only on certain days or times.

For collectors of all kinds of TV and film memorabilia, as well as collectors of vintage toys, teddies, diecasts and model railways, there will be lots to browse in the Collectors Zone. Plus Collectormania24 also provides an opportunity for small press writers along with illustrator and artists of all kinds, to display and sell their unique books, comics, jewellery, cards, posters and artwork. Find them in the Small Press & Artist Alley, which is always a fascinating area of the show.

And of course, cosplay visitors can dress up as their favourite character and so add a major fun element to a great show that all the family will enjoy.
