me

I’ve had a terrible week, and I’ve hardly slept at all as I’ve been so worried.

Over the past two weeks, I’ve been to the 200th Commemoration of the Battle of Waterloo, followed by the Jungfrau region of Switzerland, and then little granddaughter Isabella’s first birthday party.

As I was then off to the Piemont region of Italy within a few days, I loaded and filed the photos on my computer and deleted them from my camera.

At the weekend, I wrote a Switzerland story (see tomorrow) and tried to open the file to choose some photos. It was empty!

I know that information is always on the computer somewhere.

Criminals often think they’ve deleted all the evidence, but they never have.me2

I actually felt sick as I was so upset. Then I called Image Recall, www.imagerecall.com 01489798393. I’d bought their software   when I had camera/computer problems before.

They were ever so helpful and loaded some extra software for me.

It took over an hour to go through all my camera memory card, but I’m relieved and happy as I’ve got most of the photos back again!

While it was searching all the photos, I went out and told a lady in a supermarket what had happened.

She told me that she’d lost her phone with all her daughter’s photos from birth to age one on it.

The moral to this story is, back everything up. Use memory sticks, discs, or even photo printers.

Nothing lasts for ever, but at least you’ll have a backup.

Meanwhile, I’m sure that the original file will turn up one day in a place where I least expect to find it!

Thank you again Image Recall, but I hope that I never need your services again!

Do make a note of their name. You never know when you’ll need them!
